So it’s been a while since you’ve done laundry and it is really piling up. You maybe have clean clothes still in baskets not put away, and dirty clothes are on the floor of the bedroom and bath. If this sounds familiar, you need a new system for laundry. Here are some tips to help you get your laundry situation back in hand.

First, come up with a laundry schedule. You should have a laundry day. That way you know that you have blocked time to do it. No more wondering when you will get to it — you do it and get it all done on laundry day.

That doesn’t mean the laundry has to be a full load. Just do whatever you have on the designated day. If you have a lot of laundry, or are doing laundry for several people, you may need more than one laundry day per week. Regardless, stick to your schedule and get it all done on the designated day.

Donate some of your clothes. If you have a ton of laundry it may be that you just have too many clothes. You likely don’t need or even enjoy much of you what you have. If this is the case, take an afternoon to cull your wardrobe and donate what you aren’t going to keep.  Read more...

The first vacuums were invented over a hundred years ago. Once electricity became popular in most households, electric vacs became a must have for every housewife. These early models aren’t terribly different than their descendents, either.

The newer ones are certainly more powerful, and most have HEPA filters that can be cleaned and reused rather than the old fashioned bags that were thrown up when they were full. However, many people are still not convinced that these filters are better and they continue using the vacuums with the disposable bags.
