The time-tested act of buying clothes out of season will almost always guarantee a discount. If you have the foresight to buy a hooded sweatshirt in Summer, then you can probably save $10-$30 overall on a single item. These stores don’t sell much stock when clothes are out of season, so they don’t mind discounting the total price and cutting their losses each year.

Credit card offers exist with most large chains of clothing stores. Abercrombie has their own company credit card that you can get if you qualify. The credit card entitles you to special promotions, discounts, and incentives. Everyone from a baby to a young adult can shop at Ed Hardy. Clothing for children is too often stale or not interesting, which gives Ed Hardy clothing such a good name. The childrens line of clothing is more expensive than normal clothing, but worth it for the impressions the children will make.

Ed Hardy clothes are seen as adult clothes. Since children’s clothes are not the main target product, there will be less selection to choose from than what adults have. Each quarter, the fashion super giant Abercrombie releases a new line of clothing to the masses. The Summer 2010 was a good quarter for Abercrombie, who released six new collections for men. Each subset in the collect allows men to dress for a different circumstance.

“Up All Night” is the first collection put out for Summer 2010. The top for this collection is actually an assembly of three different tops. There is a V-neck at the core, with a classic plaid shirt over that. A rugged hooded jacked is placed over the ensemble. To finish off the look, a pair of brown cargo shorts fit to make a casual yet stylish appearance.

Looking for a more clean look? “Making Moves” might be the better collection. It is also very simple in design, only consisting of a polo shirt and a pair of jeans. It’s better for the conservative types that like to look good and not got overboard with trends. The dark grey jeans go well with the navy blue color of the polo shirt.  Read more...

Juicy Couture is primarily an apparel distributor, but they also have plenty of nice fragrances. They carry three main fragrances for women and one for men. Each line of fragrances also has special lotions, shower gels, and cosmetics to buy on the side.

Most scents in the Juicy Couture fragrance line will have undertones of fruit. The first fragrance, “Couture Couture,” does just that with sweet smells of plum and mandarin. A larger tone of sandalwood balances out the fruit smells and brings in a more sophisticated smell to the mix. Flower scents are also included so the result is multiple smells coming in at all once, creating a unique scent.

“Juicy Couture” is less expensive than the previous line, being about $90 for several ounces. The fragrance smells like watermelon, mandarin, passion fruit, green apple, and marigold. This fruity concoction also includes faint smells of caramel and precious woods. Money, for most students, is hard to come by. The average American family doesn’t have an excess of money to send a child to a university without loans. As a result, getting stylish clothing can be a task. With the right know-how, students can still wear what they want on a budget.

It’s always best to buy Abercrombie and Fitch in the middle of Summer, since that is when the company tends to discount their men’s swimming wear by about half off. The men’s line of swimming trunks is great because they follow current trends such as plaid, stripes, and “cool” colors. The swim trunks can be obtained for about what you would pay at a department store- around $25.

Foot wear such as sandals are a good buy for Summer months. Men’s sandals can be expensive if you prefer real leather and quality materials. Abercrombie generally has two lines of sandals: the $50 type made with authentic materials, and the $10 type that are just plastic. True Religion Brand Jeans is not your average jean pants manufacturer. The designs they create can cost several hundred dollars per pair for men, women, and children sizes. The brands sold through the manufacturer do have their place in apparel, however.

Denim is the backbone of the True Religion jean brand. Denim is a strong material that has been used in making pants for decades. Jeans you find in a common department store won’t be the same rugged denim that was used heavily back when the material was found. True Religion, however, uses the material to make an impervious product.

The True Religion brand isn’t your average high-cost apparel retailer. The jeans are made for working men and those who care about fashion alike. Pink is frequently thought of as a feminine color, even though it has become fashionable for men’s shirts as well as ties. However, shirts and ties are about all that will be pink on most men, and the colour continues to be reserved for women, for the most part. From pink baseball caps to pink laptop computers, practically all else that’s pink is worn or utilized by a woman.

Yet there is a surprisingly masculine history to the colour. It was only in the latter half of the twentieth century, according to cultural historians, that pink became the near universal colors of femininity. And even as late as the 1950s in the United States, it was a pink car, the pink Cadillac, that was highly prized as a masculine status symbol.

Indeed, at about the same time, “Nantucket Red” was a favorite colour of preppy young men, one that could just be easily considered “Barbie buble-gum pink”. In Catholic parts of Germany, it was little girls that were dressed in blue, which is the colour of the Virgin Mary, and little boys in pink, as the lighter shade of red, which was held to be a boldly masculine color.  Read more...

Backpacks are a godsend for students that are expected to carry ten pounds or more in books each and every day. Backpacks today are created to support the heavy weight, but also allow the wearer to be comfortable. For the upcoming school year students should be looking for both qualities in their search.

The typical school backpack is worn on the back and secured through three straps: two on the shoulder, and one tied strap around the chest or waist. If you do decide to go for the conventional school backpack, make sure you are carrying the recommended amount of weight. Also secure the backpack with the third strap to prevent extra strain being put on the spine- even if it may not be the trendy thing to do.

Duffel bags are a good option, but aren’t so great for heavy weights. A duffel bag is best used for gym class, when students must store deodorant, clothes, and hygiene products for use before or after class.
